Description

Feel at home in this unique and tranquil 200-year-old historic cottage in Canterbury, a hidden gem blending historic charm with modern conveniences. This petite property offers a cozy and comfortable stay within the historic city walls.
The Monk's Retreat is a recently renovated cottage featuring a compact kitchen on the ground floor equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, and a small dining table with two chairs. The bathroom includes a toilet, sink, and a good-sized shower. Upstairs, the open-plan bedroom boasts a king-size bed (which can be separated into two single beds upon request), a TV, and a full-length mirror. Hotel-quality linens, fresh towels, and toiletries are provided.
Guests are provided with a starter kit including washing up liquid, antibacterial spray, kitchen roll, toilet roll for 2-3 days, and bin liners. Bed linen, bath and hand towels, and toiletries are also supplied.
The bedroom includes a table with a dining sofa, suitable for setting up a temporary workspace.
This property is not suitable for young children under 6 years of age due to the open staircase without a stair gate and the lack of space for a travel cot or high chair. Smoking is not allowed. Guests are required to complete a verification process facilitated by Truvi, which involves providing a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. Guests can choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40.
Situated a stone's throw away from the lovely Dane John Gardens and a short walk into the City Centre, this secluded cottage offers views of the Cathedral towers. All the attractions of the City are just minutes away.
