Poppy Cottage is a charming 200-year-old dog-friendly cottage set on the lower side of a mountain above Coniston. Nestled in its own garden with beautiful fell views, it offers privacy and a warm, welcoming feel. Exposed beams and an open-plan living space create a comfortable atmosphere, making it an ideal base to explore the Lake District.
The cottage sleeps up to 5 guests and has three bedrooms, one with direct garden access via a stable door and another featuring a freestanding roll-top bath. The spacious, fully equipped kitchen suits self-catering stays. The private garden has outdoor seating, with views towards the Old Man of Coniston and the surrounding fells.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Free private parking for up to 3 cars is available. Self check-in is remote, with no direct contact needed. The cottage has uneven ground outside and a spiral staircase inside, so it may be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is before 10:00. Pets must be kept off beds and furnishings, and smoking is not allowed. Guest verification via Truvi is required, using a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card.
Tucked away along a quiet country lane, the cottage is a short walk from the village centre and the shores of Coniston Water, with walking trails, waterfalls and woodland paths nearby.
