Feel at home in Churchill Country Retreat, a historic and charming home offering a tranquil escape in the East Sussex countryside, near the village of North Chailey and Lewes. This spacious property sleeps up to 11 guests across six individually styled bedrooms, blending elegance and warmth with cosy window seats for quiet reading.
The heart of this home is a spacious country-style kitchen, fully equipped with modern appliances including two AGA ovens with an electric oven and hob module, a kettle, toaster, and microwave, along with ample cookware, glassware, crockery, and cutlery. Complimentary tea, coffee, salt, and pepper are provided. The dining table seats up to 10 guests with additional chairs available. The sociable and light living room is set up with a Smart TV, offering a lovely space for relaxation or entertainment. There are further sitting rooms for quiet moments. A separate utility room is equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, and vacuum cleaner. Partial air conditioning is available in some rooms.
Private secluded parking is available on the driveway for several cars and an art deco-inspired swimming pool that can be heated in the peak summer months, a hot tub, and a jacuzzi spa are available. For younger guests, there is a children's climbing frame and garden games. One pool towel is provided per guest, and plastic glassware is supplied for outdoor use. The jacuzzi is heated from 7 pm on your arrival day and typically takes around 4 hours to reach temperature. Pool heating is available on request from June 1st to September 15th for an additional fee per booking, or is complimentary for stays of 7 nights or more. A travel cot and a high chair are available free of charge. This property is pet-friendly, with a £95 cleaning fee per furry friend per stay, maximum 2 pets allowed.

Winding staircases connect the different levels within the house, so it may be difficult to access some of the bedrooms for those with limited mobility. Some exit doors remain permanently locked for health and safety reasons. Smoking of any kind, leaving traces behind suggesting smoking of any kind, or vaping (including e-cigarettes) is not allowed indoors. Noise should be kept to a minimum between 10 pm and 8 am. Call-outs due to excessive noise or parties may incur a fee. Dogs are not permitted on beds or furniture, in the pool or hot tub, and must not be left unattended in the house or garden. Housetrained dogs only are accepted. Please clean up after your pets. Ensure dogs do not approach or disturb the horses in fenced stables and fields. Check-out is by 11 am. Unauthorised late departures may incur a £50 per hour fee. The lead guest must be 21 or over. We cannot accept bookings where the majority of guests are under this age.
The property offers a resort-style experience with a private Art Deco-inspired swimming pool, jacuzzi hot tub spa, sun loungers, and a spacious garden designed for relaxation and fun. Beyond the gated pool area, children can enjoy the climbing frame while adults unwind on the landscaped lawn or soak up the peaceful countryside surroundings.
