Step into the sitting room and relax by the wood-burning stove set within the original inglenook fireplace. The well-equipped kitchen/diner combines traditional charm with modern convenience, offering a freestanding oven and hob, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A contemporary ground-floor shower room with a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail, and WC adds further convenience. The family bathroom on the first floor features a bath, basin, and WC.
Guests can enjoy the use of a small rowing boat. Garden furniture is provided in the enclosed front garden, which has been established as a wildflower meadow.
Please note that the lake is unfenced and care should be taken at all times. The property does not have a TV and is not suitable for children under eight years of age due to the unfenced lake. Owing to the historic nature of the building and its layout, it may also be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. The property welcomes no pets. Clear evenings offer exceptional opportunities for stargazing, with the Milky Way often visible overhead, as the cottage lies within a designated Dark Sky area. This property can accommodate a maximum of 4 adults.

Surrounded by ancient oak woodland, this cottage offers direct access to extensive woodland walks leading to nearby lakes, including Llyn Hafod y Llyn, a popular spot for wild swimming. The mountains of the Moelwyns and Rhinogs provide excellent walking opportunities, and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is within easy driving distance. The historic Ffestiniog Railway can be boarded at nearby Tan-y-Bwlch station, within walking distance. Explore beautiful beaches at Harlech and Borth-y-Gest, visit the Italianate village of Portmeirion, discover the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, or explore Harlech Castle. Two welcoming local pubs, The Grapes and The Oakeley Arms, are within walking distance.
