Sunny single bedroom available in a semi-detached house on a quiet road, very close to UWE (15 minutes by bike) and near lots of lovely nature, the river and fields. The bright, comfortable and clean house has a living room, kitchen, dining room and a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. A large, secluded 180 foot garden runs down to a stream and woodland. There is room on the street for a car, and bicycles can be kept in the garage. The room has a single bed with a very comfy mattress, a single wardrobe, a small chest of drawers and lots of shelving; more or different furniture can be arranged. You will live with Katie, Daryl, their 11 year old daughter and three very sweet and cuddly cats. The household is easy-going, friendly, creative and bohemian. Daryl is an artist and gardener, and Katie is a former journalist and PR professional, now a university media lecturer who works from home 2 to 5 days a week. Daryl and their daughter are at work or school full time on weekdays. They are looking for a friendly lodger of any age who is happy to live with a child and cats. Vegetarian females only, no males or couples. Ideally you would only work from home for some of the week, for example 1 to 2 days. There is no smoking or vaping in the house or garden, and no overnight visitors. The room is available from 1 December 2026, ideally for at least 4 months to the end of March, with shorter or longer terms discussable. It is also available as a Monday to Friday let at a lower rent; message to discuss costs. Fishponds high street is very close and has Morrisons, Aldi and Lidl, plus independent shops and cafes and charity shops. The Bristol cycle path into town is two minutes away, and the River Frome at the bottom of the road leads to walks to Eastville Park and the lake or to Snuff Mills and Oldbury Court. Buses run from the main road into town in about 15 to 20 minutes. UWE Frenchay Campus is a 15 minute cycle away, and the MOD in Stoke Gifford is 20 minutes by bike.
