The flatmates, Lucy (32) and Rose (42), have made the flat their home for the past 6-12 years. They enjoy cooking together, watching Gogglebox and pursuing their own interests. Kiki, the cat, joined during lockdown and they share responsibility for her and the household chores. The flat is a relaxed, safe space, open to friends but not a party flat.

The neighbourhood is well connected, with Cambridge Heath and Bethnal Green stations a short walk away and plenty of buses into the city. Local haunts include Victoria Park, Broadway Market, Columbia Road Flower Market, London Fields and Whitechapel, with Bethnal Green Library, Get Loose zero waste refill shop at Hackney City Farm and Genesis Cinema nearby.

The compact room is unfurnished but comfortably fits a double bed and desk or additional storage. It has original wooden floors, a built-in bookshelf and wardrobe with an upper storage cupboard, and is decorated in House of Hackney wallpaper, with the option to revert to white paint.

The flat is on the first floor of a 4-storey residential block with lift and stairs access. A parking bay in the car park or bike space in the cycle hoop can be applied for. The kitchen has an oven, induction hob, washing machine and dishwasher. The living room has a sofa that converts to a bed and a TV with Chromecast. The bathroom has a shower and bath with good pressure and hot water, plus a separate loo.

Bills (gas, electric, water, council tax, internet and TV licence) are shared equally and paid monthly. Private landlords, so no agency fees.
