We have a room available to rent in our home not far from Gloucester Road. We are Alex, Lizzie, Sarah and Jake, all working professionals and creative, and we are looking for someone fun and friendly to join us. Alex works in sustainability and enjoys gardening, pottery and wild-swimming. Lizzie works in film and enjoys surfing, travel and live music. Jake works in publishing and enjoys climbing, the outdoors and going out for wine or coffee. Sarah works as a civil servant and has recently moved in. We are relaxed during the week, get out at weekends, and enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings or a trip to the pub now and then.
The house is a big Edwardian terrace with high ceilings, big bright windows and original features such as stained glass. We treat it as a real home and all look after the communal areas together. It has a large living room, a kitchen and a sunny back garden. The downs are an easy walk away. Our landlady lives nearby and is on hand for any issues. There are no pets, though local cats sometimes visit.
The room is on the top floor, off a landing we have turned into a little reading nook. There are two flights of stairs to reach it, so it is not the most accessible. It comes furnished. There are two bathrooms and a utility room with bike storage. On-street parking is available with a permit, or free on the next street over. A shared office room is available between the two top floor rooms.
Our housemate is moving out and we are looking for someone to take over the room from 25 November. The agency requires references and a basic credit check. Bills are about £118 per month, so all in about £698.
