Room to rent Highbury Hill, Greater London

Description

A bright, spacious double room in a three-storey Victorian shared house in Highbury, a short walk from Arsenal tube station on the Piccadilly line. You have use of the kitchen, washing machine room and sitting room on the ground floor, and you share a bathroom with one other person on your floor. There is a secure bike shed in the front garden and a large, beautifully maintained back garden to enjoy. This room is for a single person, not a couple. The rent of £1,020 per month includes all bills, high-speed broadband wifi and a cleaner who cleans once a week. The household is academic, with two people often working from home, so the ideal tenant would be a young lecturer, post-doc or PhD student; any other profession that respects quietness is welcome. The rental period starts at the end of November for a minimum of six months. Highbury is a pretty village-like area of north London with tree-lined streets, good food shops, pubs, restaurants, two leisure centres with pools and Arsenal football ground. It is a 20 to 30 minute bike ride from London University and Central London, and less by tube. The landlord is an LSE visiting professor who lives in the house, and the other tenants are a set designer and a Creative Writing PhD student. The house cat has died but will be replaced, so this is not suitable for anyone allergic to cats or who dislikes them. This is a strictly non-smoking house, and ideally you have been vaccinated against COVID.
